NCSOFT today announced that it has achieved the highest industry rating in global ESG evaluations for the fourth consecutive year.
In the 2024 MSCI ESG Ratings, NCSOFT was the only Korean game company to receive an AA rating. After earning an A rating in 2021, the company has maintained its AA rating for three consecutive years, solidifying its leadership in the industry.
The MSCI ESG Ratings, established in 1999, evaluates publicly listed companies worldwide on key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, with ratings across seven levels. NCSOFT received high marks for its proactive measures in privacy risk management, transparent environmental information disclosure, and systematic grievance handling process. Notably, its performance in Privacy and Data Security was recognized as one of the highest within its industry group.
NCSOFT also remains the only Korean game company to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Asia-Pacific Index for two years in a row. Since becoming the first Korean game company to join the index in 2023, the company has continued to be acknowledged for its outstanding ESG performance.
The DJSI, developed by global financial information provider S&P Global, is the first global sustainability management evaluation index assessing ESG performance across businesses. The DJSI Asia-Pacific Index highlights the top 20% of companies in the Asia-Pacific region by market capitalization.
Previously in August, NCSOFT received an A rating in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS) for the fourth consecutive year, marking the highest evaluation among Korean game companies.
Hyunjoo Kim, Head of ESG Management at NCSOFT, stated, “This evaluation reflects NCSOFT’s consistent efforts in sustainable management.” He added, “We will continue to identify and actively implement ESG initiatives that contribute to the company’s long-term competitiveness.”
