NCSOFT has published its fifth annual sustainability report, ESG PLAYBOOK 2024, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to transparent ESG management and sustainable growth.

Since releasing the first sustainability report in Korea’s gaming industry in 2021, NCSOFT has consistently shared its ESG initiatives and status with stakeholders each year.

ESG PLAYBOOK 2024 outlines the company’s key ESG achievements and strategies for sustainable growth, grounded in its 25-year strategic vision of gameplay innovation, technological advancement, and global expansion.

The report highlights NCSOFT’s continued efforts to build a user-driven development culture.  The company strengthens player engagement through regular live broadcasts for each game title, integrates user feedback into game development, and actively conducts international playtests.

NCSOFT also underscored its commitment to a safe and reliable gaming environment. It became the first Korean game company to receive the Cross Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) certification, demonstrating global standards in data protection system. Additionally, the company has improved service stability through multi-data center operations and distributed server architecture.

Aligned with leading global ESG standards—Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)—this year’s report enhances both transparency and reporting consistency.

As a leader in the gaming industry, NCSOFT is the only game company in Korea to disclose Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions data from eight global subsidiaries, including those in the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. In 2024, the company expanded its Scope 3 disclosure categories from five to seven, further advancing its environmental data management framework.

In recognition of its ESG performance, NCSOFT was the only Korean game company listed for the “Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJBIC) Asia Pacific Index” for two consecutive years. The company also received an “A” rating from the Korea ESG Standards Institute and a “AA” rating from MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) in 2024, affirming its excellence in ESG management.
