NCSOFT today launched a new update for its MMORPG AION 2, delivering expanded PvE content, improved rewards, and multiple quality-of-life enhancements.

Ahead of the update, the AION 2 development team shared details during an official live broadcast, highlighting the addition of a new Expedition difficulty, reward upgrades for key content, class balance updates, and various convenience improvements.

Players can now challenge Hard difficulty in Expedition Conquest Dungeons, offering higher drop rates for Heroic and Unique grade equipment, as well as Draconic crafting materials. The update applies to four dungeons: Krao Cave, Draupnir, Urugugu Canyon, and Vakron Sky Island.

Rewards have been significantly improved across PVE content:

Sanctuary (highest difficulty) now guarantees rewards such as Gear Change Voucher: Ludra (Bound) and Abyss Box (Bound), usable for Substance Morph.

Transcendence dungeons now offer Unstable Stigma Shard (Bound), and boss patterns for stages 1 to 3 have been eased for better accessibility.

Rewards for Expedition Conquest difficulty have been further enhanced. Drop rates for Unique grade items have increased, and a guaranteed reward, Gear Change Voucher, has been added, allodkwing players to exchange weapons, armor, and accessories. In addition, new synchronization items, Sync Stone and Sync Stone Fragment, will be introduced.

Combat adjustments include faster charge speeds linked to combat speed and removal of the maximum recovery cap of 2,000 for Defiance’s third Specialty skill, ensuring more stable gameplay.

    Several convenience improvements include:

Rewards for Shugo Festa and Dimensional Invasion have been increased while the number of required attempts has been reduced to lower player burden.

Additional improvements include warehouse drag-and-drop functionality, combat sound updates, and balance adjustments to Raid content.

To celebrate the season, NCSOFT will host a Christmas Special Live Broadcast for AION 2, scheduled for December 23 at 8 PM (KST) via the official YouTube channel. The broadcast will feature expanded content previews and more exclusive rewards beyond regular streams.
