New safeguards implemented to ensure a fair gameplay environment, including selective overseas VPN blocking and hardware-based restrictions
Quality-of-life improvements added such as upgraded skill-use support and character-based storage
Adjustments made to Abyss difficulty, Sanctuary entry requirements, and Assasin and Cleric Stigma skill performance
NCSOFT today announced a new update for AION 2, delivering reinforced countermeasures against bot activity alongside a wide range of gameplay improvements designed to enhance the overall player experience.
During a livestream held on January 27, the AION 2 team outlined its latest initiatives to combat botting and unauthorized automation. Measures include blocking specific overseas VPN connections, enhancing the in-game reporting system, and implementing hardware-based restrictions. To further limit the use of automated gathering macros, the minimum level required to participate in gathering activities has been increased to level 45.
The team also shared updated data on permanent bans and verification-based restrictions issued to accounts engaged in illicit activity, reaffirming NCSOFT’s ongoing commitment to ensuring fair and stable gameplay environment.
Several quality-of-life updates have also been introduced. A new system has been added to support smoother skill usage, beginning with a feature that allows players to cancel basic-attacks using left or right mouse clicks. Additional skills will receive similar support in upcoming future updates.
In response to community feedback, AION 2 also now includes a character-based storage feature. Players can freely choose between character-specific storage and server-wide storage, allowing for more flexible item management.
Balance changes have been applied across multiple zones and dungeons:
In the PvP dungeon Middle Abyss Reshanta, the amount of Kinah and Abyss Points players can earn has been increased by 40%.
The difficulty of boss monsters in both the middle and lower layers of the Abyss has been raised, while selective monsters in the Middle Abyss Reshanta have seen their stats reduced to help refine overall difficulty balance.
For Sanctuary, AION 2’s highest-tier PvE dungeon, the Reward Count requirement for entry has been removed, leaving only the Attempt Count as a limiting factor. Players with remaining Attempt Count may continue to access Sanctuary content, but will be unable to open Odyle Energy Cubes, which require Reward Counts to consume.
Both Assassin and Cleric classes have received upgrades to their Stigma skills. Key survivability skills—such as Survival Stance, Enhance Health, and Heightened Sixth Sense—have been strengthened. Offensive skills including Blade Toss, Infiltrate, Ensnaring Trap, and Voice of Doom have been enhanced to destroy all active shields on targeted enemies, offering greater tactical variability in combat.
