NCSOFT announced that it will acquire European mobile game platform company JustPlay as part of its accelerated expansion into the global mobile casual games market.
On March 10, NCSOFT’s board of directors approved an investment of USD 202 million to secure a 70% stake in Germany-based JustPlay. The transaction is scheduled to close at the end of April.
Founded in 2020 by former executives from global ad tech leader AppLovin, JustPlay is a mobile casual game development and reward-based platform company built on advanced advertising technology. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, it is positioned to serve as a core platform within NCSOFT’s global mobile casual ecosystem.
Through its proprietary platform, JustPlay operates more than 40 internally developed and published mobile casual games. The company recorded USD 172.8 million in revenue and USD 19.1 million in operating profit in 2025, with approximately 70% of total revenue generated in North America, demonstrating strong competitiveness across both North American and European markets.
Following rapid growth beginning in 2025, JustPlay is projected to generate USD 65.2 million in revenue and USD 7.5 million in operating profit in the first quarter of 2026. For the full year 2026, the company is expected to reach USD 325 million in revenue and USD 40 million in operating profit.
Byungmoo Park, Co-CEO of NCSOFT, said, “JustPlay is demonstrating exceptional growth and strong potential, with revenue projected to increase 88% year-over-year in 2026.” He added, “Through this acquisition, we will secure a core platform for our global mobile casual business and focus on building an ecosystem that maximizes synergy with our mobile casual studios both in Korea and internationally.”
In 2025, NCSOFT established its Mobile Casual Center and has since been building a unified ecosystem that integrates development, publishing, data, and technology capabilities. NCSOFT has also been actively expanding its portfolio and strengthening global development expertise through the acquisitions of mobile casual studios such as Lihuhu in Vietnam and Springcomes in Korea.
