PANGYO, Korea (January 10, 2024) – NCSOFT unveiled plans for service enhancements and content updates for its latest MMORPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL), during a live stream on January 9.
Hosted by three key dev leaders – Captain Moonyoung Choi, Producer Jongok Ahn, and Design Director Moonseop Lee – the live stream provided in-depth insights into upcoming updates for TL. The team discussed improvements to ‘Regional Events’, the introduction of the ‘Skill Switching System’ and new skills, and shared details about the server merger schedule. Additionally, they actively engaged with users by addressing a variety of questions from the live chat.
Starting January 10, TL will be broadening the reward scope for ‘Regional Events’. Previously focused on top-ranking players and fortunate rewards, the expansion now includes the top 150 participants (formerly top 100 participants). These players will be rewarded with ‘Marind,’ an in-game item designed for skill progression. Additionally, TL has bolstered the base rewards for all participants, doubling the number of ‘Improvement Books’ and ‘Training Books’, regardless of players’ rankings. A modified distribution structure will be implemented on January 17, considering that specific weapons inherently have advantages in the Events.
TL also introduced the ‘Skill Switching System,’ which facilitates the transfer of growth points between different skills. In addition, the upcoming ‘Skill Quick Slot Set’ feature is currently in development and is scheduled for release on January 17. This feature will empower players to switch and interchangeably use a customized set of skills seamlessly. New skills will be introduced on January 24. Players can acquire these skills by participating and accumulating points in a three-day ‘Resistance Event’ held every two weeks.
On January 17, NCSOFT will undergo a server consolidation, merging 21 servers into 10 to optimize the gaming experience, with a particular focus on improving party dungeons and guild formation. Simultaneously, TL is actively developing a server transfer system to facilitate user migration between servers. An integrated server party matching system is also in the works, enabling players from different servers to engage in TL together. TL’s first Siege Warfare event is set to take place from February 2 to 4.
During the live stream, the three leaders addressed a range of user comments and inquiries, discussing topics such as optimizing large-scale battles, handling abusive users, introducing new costumes, and outlining plans for new dungeon content. Captain Choi concluded the live stream by stating, “I would like to extend our sincere apologies for any inconveniences resulting from imperfect operation.” He added, “It feels like we are always apologizing in every live stream. We will dedicate ourselves to ensure and bring more positive and inspiring subjects to our next live stream.”
NCSOFT has released in-game coupons to acquire valuable items during the live stream. These coupons will remain accessible until the regular maintenance scheduled for January 17. For more information, please visit TL’s official YouTube channel.
