NCSOFT Becomes the First Korean Game Company Listed on the DJSI Asia Pacific Index

NCSOFT secured a place on the 2023 DJSI Asia Pacific Index, underscoring its standing in the top 20% for ESG management excellence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Recognized for its exemplary ESG management, NCSOFT received a favorable evaluation across key areas, including information security, data privacy, human resource development, and environmental disclosure.

For the second consecutive year, NCSOFT has earned the highest rating among Korean game companies in both domestic and international ESG assessments, such as achieving an AA in the MSCI ESG Ratings.

PANGYO, South Korea (December 14, 2023) - NCSOFT, a global premier developer and publisher, today announced that it has become the first Korean game company listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Asia Pacific Index.

The DJSI is an annual global sustainable management assessment index by the world’s largest financial information provider, ‘S&P Dow Jones Indices,’ and a leading ESG rating agency ‘S&P Global.’ It assesses companies based on their economic, environmental, social, and governance performance.

Building on its landmark inclusion as the first Korean game company in the 2022 DJSI Korea Index, NCSOFT extended its recognition by securing a position in the 2023 DJSI Asia Pacific Index. This places NCSOFT within the top 20 percent of ESG-managed companies among the 600 largest corporations in Asia and the Pacific region.

NCSOFT is acknowledged for its industry-leading performance in diverse areas, including information security, data privacy, human resource development, and environmental disclosure. Notably, the company has demonstrated improvement in scores compared to the previous year, particularly in climate change adaptation and materiality assessment.

Beyond its inclusion in the DJSI Asia Pacific, NCSOFT has garnered outstanding ratings from both domestic and international ESG evaluation agencies. In the 2023 Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG Ratings, NCSOFT sustained its AA rating, consistent with the previous year. Additionally, for the third consecutive year, the company achieved an A grade in the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS) ESG Ratings, securing the highest rating among Korean game companies.
