NCSOFT today confirmed its corporates split-off and the establishment of new entities during an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held today at its Pangyo R&D Center in Seongnam, Korea.
NCSOFT held a board of directors meeting on June 24, where the decision was made to proceed with a corporate split-off and the establishment of two new entities. Today, at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, the resolution for this split-off plan was passed as proposed.
The new companies, NC QA and NC IDS, will be established as private corporations and are set to launch on October 1.
NC QA will focus on the QA (Quality Assurance) service business, specializing in software quality assurance, computer programming, system integration management, and related IT and computer operations services. NC IDS will concentrate on application software development and supply, offering expertise in computer system integration consulting and implementation, as well as system software development.
Through this split-off, NCSOFT aims to create a management system that facilitates swift, specialized decision-making within each business division, thereby reinforcing its core competitiveness. From this, NCSOFT will enhance business capabilities and ultimately focus on increasing both corporate and shareholder value.
Byngmoo Park, co-CEO of NCSOFT and acting chairman at today’s extraordinary general meeting, stated, “The new companies will leverage their expertise accumulated as IT support divisions and evolve into B2B-centric specialized firms.” He added, “We at NCSOFT are committed to strengthening our core competitiveness and dedicating every effort to laying the foundation for sustainable growth.”
