NC today announced that its MMORPG AION 2 has launched a collaboration with the K-pop group fromis_9.

As part of the collaboration, AION 2 has released a special promotional video featuring fromis_9 exploring Atreia. Players can acquire a range of in-game cosmetics identical to the outfits showcased in the video. Equipping a full set allows players to transform into the likeness of fromis_9. Additional themed items include the pets Baby Flomeow and Flostick, the Four-Leaf Flover Wings, and a fromis_9 Light Stick weapon skin.

The update also introduces two new emotes based on the choreography of fromis_9's signature track "LIKE YOU BETTER." Activating these emotes automatically plays the song, and a new feature enables nearby players to seamlessly join the dance. Players can also take the stage on the fromis_9 collaboration stage that appears in towns, where using emotes automatically triggers stage effects.

Until August 12, players can participate in a limited-time event, The Case of the Stolen Stage Props. In this event quest, players track down missing props to help fromis_9's performance go on. Completing the event rewards players with three emotes and a limited-edition title.

With the update, NC has streamlined AION 2’s membership offerings. The previous three-tier system has been consolidated to a single option, the Special Quai Membership, which offers improved benefits at a reduced price.

The update also introduces a new large-scale PvP mode, Abyss Rift Zone. In this mode, players compete across an expansive battlefield to defeat a field boss. Rewards—including Abyss Points, the Abyss Medal of Merit, and six types of Abyss boss Artwork—are distributed based on performance. The event is accessible at scheduled intervals, operates server-wide basis similar to Abyss matchmaking, and does not consume Abyss entry time.

AION 2 has also applied various improvements based on player feedback. The number of map pins available on the world map has increased from 10 to 30, and all skill cooldowns are fully reset upon completion of an Ascension Trial.
